Learning Outcome 2 - Understand how media producers create products for specific audiences

The Last Of Us

Genre – The Last Of Us is an Action Adventure, Survival Horror
Content - The style of the text for the game is big and bold. The texture of the text looks like it has started to get dirty and moldy with there being a hint of brown on the 's' in the word 'us'
Construction - In the trailers and gameplay of the game you can see that a lot of time has been put into making the game to make it run smooth. You can also see that a lot of people were put into making the game to make it look this realistic.
Narrative conventions – In the game you would expect it to be dark most of the time. You would also expect to see some type of monstrous enemy. Since this game is an 18 rated you could expect to see some blood and gore and also hear some bad language.
Common Codes – The codes to the game is that they both have bold text on the games cases. This is to make people notice the game and to make people buy it.
Modes of address – In the last of us the characters talk to each other to find out information about where to go next. since the game is in third person this means that when the characters say 'Lets go to the hospital' they are telling the audience where they want to go since the player is the hand of god and is in control

Just dance

Genre – The genre for Just Dance is Party and Music, This means that the game will feature a figure moving with some music in the background allowing the player to follow the moves
Content - Since Just Dance is a family game, This means the game will feature bright colors that will catch the audience's attention
Construction - Just Dance is very colorful and fast paced, The game features strobed like colors to grab the audience's attention. The game features a fast paced figure doing dance moves with a smaller figure in the bottom corner for the player to follow each step as they move through each song.
Narrative conventions – Just Dance doesn't feature a narrative. Instead the game makes the player be the narrator in order to unlock other songs. The player acts like the narrator as the game makes you the star of the game instead of the player controlling a character
Common Codes – Just Dance has common codes from other dance and music based games like SingStar which makes the player sing the song lyrics in order to score points another example is Dance Dance Revolution that requires the players to step on each arrow in order to score the most points.

Modes of address – The game features a dancing character in the middle of the screen, This is so the player can follow the same moves as the character, The player is acting like a puppet and the game is like the master pulling on the strings because the game wants you to follow the moves
